...Arkham (mission 19)
Arkham When Arkham fails to control Sparda's power, he becomes a formless blob with shooting appendages. There are two aspects to fighting Arkham, and two parts to the battle.

PART 1: Dante vs. Arkham
This half is pretty straightforward. Attack the blob as much as you can, preferably with aerial combos over his head. Try to stay away from his front and the swiping claws, especially the appendage that looks like a large hand because it can grab you and drain your health. Devil Trigger to break free of his grasp. Arkham will also cast series of Homing Torpedoes that can be tricky to dodge, so watch for the red bursts that trigger them. Use up Devil Trigger like mad whenever
you have it, both for boosts in power and to regenerate life, because you won't have it in the second part of the battle. When Arkham disappears into the ground and releases what are called Arkham's Legions. They resemble waves of screeching dolphins, or perhaps slugs. They turn red just before they attack and can be quite overwhelming if you try to take on the swarm in close combat. Unless you're a masochist, equipping Kalina Ann (the gun Lady specifically lent you to bring down her daddy) is the only practical way to get rid of them. Jump, aim in their general direction, and shoot for flawless S style meter ratings! Try to lead them into grouping together towards you for better efficiency, and do not let them surround you. Once they're all gone, Arhkam comes back out.

When you bring Arkham down to half life, Vergil makes his dramatic entrance. Sit back and enjoy the lovely cinematic.

PART 2: Dante & Vergil vs. Arkham
In exchange for Vergil's help, you can no longer use Devil Trigger or style moves. Thanks a lot, Verge! This is where the fight can get dangerously annoying, and Arkham is only more pissed. He casts Homing Torpedoes more often. Falling into the clutches of his life-draining hand becomes drastically more dangerous without access to Devil Trigger. The good news is, Vergil doubles as a kind of advanced Doppelganger style. You can use the Circle button to bring him to your side and mirror your moves, or he can be controlled by a second player. Summon Vergil to cut you free of Arkham's holds. Arkham's Legions, at least, are as easy as ever with Kalina Ann.

Claw Swipe: if you don't stay clear of Arkham's front, you are open to his claw attacks. Jump away/over them.

Life Drain:
even worse than Arkham's claws is his groping hand, which squeezes the life out of you unless you get him to release you. Break free of it by going into Devil Trigger in the first half of the fight, and by pressing Circle to have Vergil cut you out of it in the second half of the fight.

Homing Torpedoes:
Arkham casts a series of homing torpedoes launching from red bursts. Pick a direction and keep jumping.

Arkham's Legions: annoying little buggers. Lead them to group together and shoot them with Kalina Ann.
