This is one little girl you don't want to mess with. Though, technically, she's not a little girl. In fact, she's the oldest of the Noah, and is known as the First Child. Her abilities include travel between dimensions and trapping people in terrible nightmares. She has a prominent sadistic streak. Road likes candy, hates humans, but is for some inexplicable reason attracted to Allen Walker.

Mello was the only thing that got me through the second half of Death Note... 6 years after I quit reading it - because of the L thing. And Mello was also what nearly got me to quit reading Death Note AGAIN at the last few chapters, because he has the most insulting death I've ever seen for a major character. Did I say major? I meant he barely does anything. Holy crap the second half of Death Note is retarded.

For the longest time Risu thought he couldn't use magic. Well, it turns out that he can, but there's a catch: he had to die before it could activate. This makes Risu quite the neurotic little squirrel ("risu" means squirrel), but a neurotic squirrel with terrifying offensive capabilities. He's extremely bipolar and can switch from friendliness to ripping out your innards in the blink of an eye. Mostly he's anxious and paranoid. But, really, can you blame him? He seeks to find out who killed him in the first place and why.

Tetsujo is one of the five Cross Eyes Officers. He's an expert swordsman and an even greater friend. He lost his right eye when he was little, protecting Dokuga from armed bullies, and hasn't left Dokuga's side since. He's constantly hovering around Dokuga... supporting him, worrying about him, trying to get him to open up. Indeed, Tetsujo is the only person with whom Dokuga felt safe enough sharing his biggest secrets.

Shin is very... excitable. He's a really nice guy once you get to know him, but if you meet him on less amicable terms, prepare to become intimately acquainted with the beloved hammer that he wields with sadistic zeal - if you're lucky. If you're unlucky, he will unleash upon you his special magical talent: slicing the body into rings height-wise while leaving you alive and aware. This makes it easier for him to stuff you into garbage bags and take you in for questioning. It's much wiser to surrender to him from the get go, because even though Shin is an honorable man who prefers a fair fight without magic, fighting back only inspires a bloodlust that makes him virtually unstoppable - especially if he considers you a worthy opponent.

En was born an orphan because he accidentally turned his parents into mushrooms. He survived by eating these mushrooms. He was later prematurely dropped into Hell, where he likewise lived off mushrooms. Although he eventually got out of Hell, and became the ruler of the magic world, he still craves nothing but mushrooms. He lives in a palace with wall to wall mushroom decor, tends to his mushroom farm, and named his pet "cat" after a mushroom. If he doesn't like you, he'll turn you into a mushroom, too. And then eat you. In fact, he once turned an entire city into mushrooms in a fit of magic smoke. Yes, En's mushrooms are devastatingly powerful.

Hobbies: Mushroom farming, mushroom eating.

This is En's "cat"-like creature, named after one of his favorite mushrooms. She is a very powerful magic user, endowed with the rare ability of bringing the dead back to life, and is therefore highly sought-after. But she is also her own person, and a look into her daily thoughts is one of the highlights of the series for me. I would love a companion like her! Kikurage is close with Ebisu, who provides her with tasty snacks.

Hobby: Torturing insects.

A.K.A. Kasukabe

Haze is truly neutral. He might save your life, might experiment on you, or might save your life TO experiment on you. Although he has a long trail of people thanking him for his help, he insists he's not that kind of man. What help he offers he does so to satisfy his own curiosity. He also has no sense of self-preservation whatsoever, and often finds himself in way over his head. It's a good thing he has a giant pet cockroach and a devil wife to look out for him! Haze is fascinated by magic users and his lab is filled with the mutilated bodies of them and their victims.

Hobby: Biomedical research.

Ed is a very clever and insightful kid. He became a State Alchemist when he was 12, making him the youngest member of the organization ever. His alchemy genius is enhanced by his ability to transmute without a transmutation circle - an ability granted only to those who have journeyed through the doors of cosmic Truth, a trip that literally cost him an arm and a leg. This experience made him very mature for his age. He is self-sacrificing when it comes to loved ones, but doesn't care too much about strangers unless their problem strikes a personal chord with him. Ed hates milk, and gets furious at anyone calling him short.

Roy wants to become Fuhrer so that he could require all females in the military to wear tiny mini-skirts. Okay, fine, there's more to it than that. He actually has a noble vision to reform the government and make up for the country's (and his own) atrocities in the Ishbal War. Although the war robbed him of his innocence, it also motivated him to rise faster through the military ranks for the sake of his ultimate goal. He often comes off arrogant and detached, but he cares deeply about his friends and annihilates anyone who harms them. His flame alchemy strikes terror into humans and homunculi alike.

Al is a kind and gentle soul. Literally "soul," since he sacrificed his entire body in a failed attempt to bring his mother back to life. Al actually went farther through the doors of Truth than his older brother Ed did, although it takes him a while to remember what he learned there. Ed managed to salvage Al's soul by binding it to a suit of vintage armor, leaving Al in a sleepless limbo with a body that can't feel either warmth nor pain. His hollow insides do come in handy when it comes to hiding refugees and animal friends.
