Saints of Pisces
This constellation is linked to Aphrodite,
created when she and her son Eros were
turned into fish to escape the wrath of Typhon. One should not
be deceived by the effeminate beauty of the Pisces Saints, for
every rose has its thorns, and theirs are quite deadly.
Aphrodite is the Pisces Saint of modern times in the original
Saint Seiya, Albafica is the Pisces Saint of the 18th
century in Lost Canvas, and Cardinal is the Pisces Saint of the
18th century in Next Dimension.

Pisces Aphrodite
|
Aphrodite was known as
the most beautiful |
|
of all the Gold Saints, and took his name from the |
|
Greek goddess of love.
But as far as Aphrodite |
|
himself was concerned, true beauty lay in victory. |
|
He believed it was right for the strong to rule over |
|
the weak because it was
power that defined justice.
It was because the Pope was strong that there was |
|
peace on Earth, and that's why, no matter how corrupt
he
was, he should be supported. Aphrodite likewise didn't
put
much stock in being honorable. When him and Scorpio Milo
were sent to punish Andromeda Island, he broke the one
on one fighting code of the Saints by interfering in
Milo's
fight with Cepheus Albiore. It was the poison of
the Royal
Demon Rose that weakened Albiore enough for Milo to
finally kill him. This came back to haunt Aphrodite
later
once Andromeda Shun, Albiore's strongest student,
found
out how ignobly his beloved Master died. It |
prompted Shun
to go into a Cosmo frenzy and
overwhelm the Gold Saint in a show of
power that he could respect. |

Pisces Albafica
Albafica's
training with his poisonous demon
roses had transformed his blood into a lethal toxin.
Although he was exceptionally beautiful and had a kind |
heart, he was forced live in isolation from the rest of,
the world, never knowing the touch of a loved one or the |
|
comfort of true friendship. But despite his
loneliness,
Albafica
was proud to serve his role as a Gold Saint of
Athena. Perhaps that is why when the Spectres attacked |
|
Sanctuary, he was first to come out to greet them,
ignoring his sign's place at the end of the Zodiac. |
|
While Albafica had no trouble dealing with the
standard minions, he found himself powerless
|
|
against the Marionation of Minos Griffon,
1
of the 3 Judges of the Underworld. The
fight quickly turned into a bloodbath. But
even that wasn't enough to deter this |
|
Saint from his duty to protect the |
|
nearby
town. Though he
had little blood left,
|

Pisces Cardinal
Cardinal first arrived on the
scene as the Pope was about to kill the baby Athena and
Virgo Shijima stopped him. The Pope tried to accuse
Shijima of treason, but this did not fool Cardinal,
because he knew that Shijima is the most just of all the
Saints. Cardinal then inexplicably shot one of his
vampiric Bloody Roses into Shijima's chest at point
blank range and he keeled over, unconscious. He
explained to the Pope that all life has an end, so it
was in his best interest to side with Hades. However,
while they were talking, Shijima managed to escape with
the baby. |

Pisces Techniques |
|
Rose Garden*
Pisces tends a garden of poisonous roses
whose fumes can dispatch enemies without him lifting a finger.
Since Pisces is the last sign of the Zodiac, his temple is the
final obstacle before reaching the Pope, and he sprouts this
carpet of roses on the steps leading to the Pope's chambers as a
deadly buffer zone. If Lost Canvas is to be believed, Pisces can
make this garden bloom anywhere he pleases, since Albafica meets
the invading Specters in the middle of such a garden before they
even reached the temple of Aries. |
|
Omni Blast*
Spinning lasers emanate from Pisces' hand
and devastate the surrounding area. |
|
Crimson Thorn
This attack seems to be unique to Albafica
due to his highly toxic blood. When he is injured, he can use
the blood to form a crimson mist and then command the suspended
droplets to form needles and bombard his opponent. Sometimes he
skips the mist stage and goes straight to shooting blood
needles. Anyone pierced by these dies within seconds. |
|
Royal Demon Rose
Pisces flings red roses at his opponent.
If the victim is cut by their thorns or inhales their fragrance,
they are poisoned until they gradually lose their five senses
and ultimately die. |
|
Red Mist*
Pisces can also use the red roses to
create a thick red mist to conceal his position and disorient
the opponent. |
|
Piranian Rose
Pisces flings black roses at his opponent.
While the red roses do damage over time, the black roses act
like a swarm of piranhas, instantly tearing apart anything in
their path.
This can be used to either defend against attack or break
through others' defenses, including armor. |
|
Bloody Rose
In his ultimate attack, Pisces flings one
or more white roses at his opponent. It seeks out the heart of
its target, able to penetrate even Gold armor, and once it
pierces the body, it will get dyed red as it sucks all the
lifeblood from its victim. |
|
|
|
Sunlight*
The Zodiac constellations have long bathed
in the light of the Sun, and the Gold armors that represent them
have absorbed an infinite amount of sunlight. To perform this
incredible blast of energy, all the Gold Saints focus their
Cosmo into the tip of Sagittarius' arrow, thereby fusing their
powers as one. |
|
This attack was
used to break through the Wailing Wall by bringing the full
intensity of a star into the darkest depths of Hell. Although it
is said that Athena Exclamation has the force of the Big Bang,
Supernova is undoubtedly more powerful, since it utilizes the
combined strength of twelve Gold Saints instead of three. It
instantly disintegrates everything in its vicinity, including
those who cast it, and sends waves of devastation rippling
outwards.
