Practical, rational, and calculating, Corazon is the team's Biologist. She tends
to the Oxygen Garden, and has been likened to an Earth Mother figure who gives
the crew breath and nourishment. But, just as Mother Earth, she also realizes that
sometimes life has to be sacrificed to strengthen the whole. She is the first to point
out that their chances of completing the mission would increase if they were to lose
a few members. I greatly respect Corazon for her ability to transcend the personal
bias of relationships and see the greater good. But I have even more respect for her
reasons for being on Icarus II. Unlike the rest of the crew, she is not there just to save
the human race. She is there to save the entire biosphere of the Earth, and it can be said
that she cares more about plants than people.
